Philip Tessier, acclaimed chef, author, and mentor, is Chef Partner at PRESS Restaurant in St. Helena, California—renowned for its refined modern American cuisine, Michelin star, and recognition as a World’s 50 Best Discovery restaurant. Alongside Owner Samantha Rudd and Managing Partner Justin Williams, he recently debuted Under-Study, a marketplace featuring a patisserie, café, and butcher shop adjacent to PRESS. Tessier’s career spans legendary kitchens including Le Bernardin, Per Se, and The French Laundry. He made history as the first American chef to podium at the Bocuse d’Or, later leading Team USA to Gold in 2017—a journey he chronicled in his book Chasing Bocuse.
