Keeping the Charleston Sea Islands Pristine

Enriching Lives

In partnership with Conservancy of the Sea Islands, The Dunlin gives back to the natural habitat and land we call home through environmental education, community clean-up efforts and high-impact service days. Through hands-on engagement and collaboration we are committed to protecting the Lowcountry’s biodiverse ecosystem and distinctive landscapes that define our guest experience.

Actioning our commitments

Our team members are dedicated to protecting the region’s natural resources and partner with Conservancy of the Sea Islands on volunteer-based litter sweeps that track debris to better understand local pollution sources, marsh restoration projects like building manufactured wire reef structures and planting native spartina grass to stabilize the coastline and support marine life. Curated guest experiences also engage our Lowcountry visitors with programs such as Outstanding Oysters, where Dunlin guests explore the coastal ecosystem and create watercolor art inspired by the natural world. As residents of one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world, we are committed to being responsible stewards of the land.
